Norwegian adds new European destination from T.F. Green Airport

Norwegian Air Shuttle announced Tuesday that it will begin service from T.F. Green Airport to Bergen, Norway, beginning in July.

The airline will also fly between Bergen and Stewart International Airport in Orange County, New York.

"We are pleased to launch these two new routes from New York and Rhode Island to Bergen so that thousands of Americans and Norwegians can fly cheaply and comfortably between the east coast of the United States and the west coast of Norway," Thomas Ramdahl, chief commercial officer at Norwegian, said in a new release.

Norwegian says it will operate the Bergen routes with the new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

Norwegian said its new Scandinavian routes will operate during the summer and are available for purchase on its website. Fares start as low as $89 one-way, including taxes. Flights will operate twice weekly from Providence on Tuesdays and Saturdays beginning on July 1.

Norwegian previously announced service from T.F. Green Airport to Scotland would begin in June and service to Ireland and Northern Ireland would launch in July.
